The Citadel Pride Society
The Citadel Pride Society (formerly Gay-Straight Alliance) is a student-led club that aims to create an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for students regardless of the sexual orientation or gender identity. We provide support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) students, as well as allies to LGBTQ+ issues.
Together, we hope to foster a community that encourages one another to embrace their true, authentic self. Pride Society members create an opportunity to grow together through regular discussions, social activities, and community outreach.
Fundraising Goals
- Advocacy and support for The Citadel’s LGBTQ+ community
- Support social activities for the club
- Alumni mentorship program for current cadets
- Community outreach with local LGBTQ+ organizations and Queer Youth Conferences
Gifts to The Citadel Foundation's LGBTQ+ Outreach fund are allocated in support of The CItadel Pride Society.
